Iceland Vow Renewal: KC & Aaron

KC & Aaron are two of the sweetest souls around (and badass photographers in their own right: https://winsomephotos.co/ ), so it was truly an honor to photograph their vow renewal in Iceland. KC & Aaron and I attended the same photography workshop leading up to the vow renewal, and so on vow renewal today there was a traveling cadre of photographers exploring the wilds of Iceland’s South Coast and making magic.

These two have been married for over ten years, and have 3 children together, so this trip and vow renewal was so beautiful to witness and photograph - it’s clear that KC & Aaron’s commitment runs deep, and so the word “renewal” doesn’t quite seem to fit right. Perhaps “wedding vow affirmation”? Or just “let’s go to Iceland and celebrate and have a new vow exchange because we can”!

We traveled to several of the Iceland South Coast’s best spots, including a sweet and tear-filled first look at Skogafoss, one of Iceland’s largest and most accessible waterfalls. Looking at these photos again, I can hear the sound of the waterfall, feel the mist even from hundreds of feet away, and the shorebirds squawking above. After their first look, we traveled an hour east to Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon, an area made famous by Justin Bieber of all time. The canyon is gorgeous and lusciously green at the height of the summer, and its overlooks were a perfect spot for KC & Aaron’s vow exchange.

After photos at the canyon, we ventured back west toward Vik, where we had dinner plans, stopping along the way for photos and frolicking (and falling!) in Icelandic fields dotted with summer’s flowers.
