Salem, MA Engagement Photos | Jill & Josh

Salem, Massachusetts is known for witches, Hocus Pocus, Halloween, & Nathaniel Hawthorne. But maybe in the future it should be known for the absolute legendary duo of Jill & Josh. J&J and I connected over our past lives living in Austin, music, and the desire to create photos that truly represented these two amazing artists. Jill & Josh run a print shop called Lucky House that they started in nearby Somerville after moving back to Massachusetts after almost a decade in Austin. They moved the print shop to Salem a few years ago, and here we are!

I knew I wanted our Salem engagement photo session to start in the couple’s studio, and I’m so glad we did. The Lucky House studio had amazing natural light, color everywhere, and so many cool opportunities for photos. It’s always such a special privilege to see people in their element, doing their thing, and that was certainly the case with Jill & Josh in their studio.

After photographing around the studio and chatting about their upcoming wedding day, the couple & I walked around downtown Salem, including in front of city hall. We finished up the session, and then went to the couple’s favorite bar for drinks, hot dogs, and grilled cheese sandwiches. Another fantastic engagement session in the books!
