House of the 7 Gables Wedding

The House of the 7 Gables is one of those places it’s hard to believe is real. It’s the setting of one of Nathaniel Hawthorne’s most famous novels (also named The House of the Seven Gables), and it’s interesting history and beautiful grounds make it one of the best wedding venues in Salem, Massachusetts.

Jill & Josh’s rainy wedding at the House of the 7 Gables was absolutely one of my 2024 highlights. Their engagement session earlier in the year was fun, joyous, creative, and cemented us as F4L (FRIENDS 4 LIFE). This amazing couple runs their own print & design studio, so I knew the design elements of their day would be absolutely on point (and OH they were).

The House of the 7 Gables was an amazing backdrop for this June wedding, even with the rain that came and went intermittently throughout the day. The blooming flower gardens made for a great place for kids an adult guests to explore. With it’s location in Salem, Massachusetts, out of town guests had plenty to do before and after wedding day (including a welcome party boat cruise that I also photographed).

Although not a full-time wedding venue, The House of the 7 Gables has a dedicated wedding planning portion of their website. Pricing is transparent, and the venue offers various interior and exterior ceremony options. Even if your wedding is fully outside, as Jill & Josh’s was, the lawn can be tented to address weather concerns. The Gables also comes with a day-of-coordinator as part of its pricing.
